Sanskrit Translations:
Asana: Seat or Posture
Pranayama: Breath control or exapansion
Vinayasa: A series of connected postures or Asana flow
Savasana: Corpse pose, traditionally used during final relaxation
Yoga Nidra: The sleepless sleep; our goal at the end of the practice.

Specialty Classes
Baby Love A unique partner class for parents and infants. This class is designed to deepen the bond between parent a child. Gentle poses that stretch and strengthen adults are paired with loving holds, gentle inversions and soft caresses. Recommended for children aged up to 1 year. Healthy Mommies Re-develop and keep your muscles strong throughout and following pregnancy. Learn how to stay strong while pregnant and continue the practice after pregnancy with poses that encourage use of your legs, arms, core, hips and more. Designed for pre/post-natal moms. |
Baby Steps For children moving into crawling and walking, this class will help you to teach your child independence as a Yogini. The practice during this class will be more playful as we move through poses that look like animals and the world around us. Parents will be encouraged to support and then free their child as he/she learns the practice and develops independence. Yoga Storytime
Children learn to use Yoga in life. This 1-2 time a month class is for children aged 2+. Each class includes an interactive story that teaches some of the philosophy from Yoga, a short asana practice and an activity. Registration is required. |

Community Classes One of the foundations of our studio is developing and supporting our community. In 2008, we coined the term "community classes" as a way for us to give back to our community through both inviting in those who cannot afford the regular fees and by offering financial support to businesses in our community. These classes offer everyone the opportunity to try the various styles of practice we offer at the studio. All proceeds collected from Community Classes are donated to a not-for-profit businesses. |
Guided Meditation (All levels) For students interested in meditation. Guided by a teacher, you will be provided with verbal direction in meditation to help develop or deepen your practice. *Students may bring comfortable seating of their own. |
Beginner-Intermediate
Length, Strength & Balance Drawing from Iyengar philosophy and designed for practitioners interested in improving their posture, those recovering from recent injury and with specific physical issues on which they would like to focus. This practice is excellent for anyone wishing to refine their practice through increased awareness of the body. *Recommended for pre/post-natal women. Deep Stretch A Yin-style practice that focuses on allowing rather than effort. The practice of Yin is one in which we use gravity to deepen our bodies into the posture. Poses are held in a restorative style that allows for your muscles to open and joints to release. *Excellent for increasing flexibility, recovering from illness or treatment and for decreasing stress. Yoga Workshop Taught by a student studying toward a certification in Iyengar Yoga. In this class, supportive props will help you to deepen stretches and increase release. Particular attention will be paid to the details of alignment for the physical poses and body position for breath work (pranayama). An excellent class for those wishing to deepen their understanding of the practice or beginners wishing to understand the poses. *Excellent for increasing flexibility and recovering from illness or treatment. Basic Flow A shorter class designed to fit into your busy schedule. This class jumps right into the Asana. Varies with active Vinyasa that will help you bring up your energy for the rest of the day as well as "office poses" that you can use while at work. Vibrant Vinyasa Develop strength and grace in your practice. This class mixes movement with isometric holding of poses in order to get you warm and working as well as to help you learn to let go into the flow. |
Intermediate-Advanced
Active Flow A more aggressive approach to Asana; this vinyasa-style class is designed to warm the body through an active flow of postures. Deepen into binds, extend further into back-bends, lengthen through deep twists and learn to flip things upside-down with inversions and backward bends. *Alignment suggestions are few in this class, new students are recommended to follow basic poses. Mountain Flow This vinyasa influenced class will challenge you physically with a unique flow of postures designed to help you advance your asana practice. You will learn to maintain strength & flexibility regardless of your daily activities. Increase awareness of how your body moves and learn to decrease injury through Yoga Asana. Beach Asana (June-October) Refine your balance, learn to do inversions and challenge your focus. During the summer months, as long as the weather is nice. You'll learn to improve not only your Asana practice but also your ability to be patient with your self. *Come prepared: bring a beach towel, warm clothing and water. Meet on the North end of Nevada Beach. Look for the string of cakra flags (rainbow-colored) $15 drop-in fee. |
Kid Asana
Geared toward the younger generations, this class is for 5 - 8 year olds.
Pre-registration is required.
A minimum of 5 children and a maximum of 10 are permitted.

Private/Semi-Private Sessions
These classes are designed to focus on your specific need. The teacher will work with you to recover from injury, maintain strength and flexibility before and after pregnancy, increase balance and strength or help you and your significant other reconnect through Asana.
